flaw of attraction.
“FOR THE MOMENTS THAT PERFORMING GENDER HAS BEEN BURDENSOME, LET US BUILD WORLDS WHERE IT CAN BE A TANTALIZING PLEASURE.”
-ANNABELLE FREEDMAN
Drawing inspiration from current and formative friendships, my collaborative partner Annabelle Freedman and I developed a family of characters that allows us to showcase our own complex identities. This project explores the multifaceted nature of gender performance, desire, and attraction housed in a future world free from imaginary barriers but entrenched in expansive every-ness.
Sebastian, Kai, Riley, Brynn and Beatrice are composite beings crafted from a compilation of loves known and imagined. They provide a canvas for us to analyze our experiences with desire and attraction to others as well as ourselves.
